A message from the Chairman

Woodford Concert Society was founded in June 2011 by a small group of local enthusiasts who believed that the area would benefit from a society that could stage high-quality classical music concerts at affordable prices. The concerts will be performed by professional musicians of national and international standing and we are pleased to support them at the start of their careers. Our opening season contains four concerts which we hope will have a wide appeal. The music and musicians, many of whom are considered 'rising stars', are of a wonderful variety and quality, and music’s ability to uplift and transcend is devastatingly powerful, so please do join us for this – our first season.

Our inaugural concert was on Sunday 9th October 2011 at Forest School in Snaresbrook and was a great success. Our next event is on Friday 18th May and features the City of London Chamber Ensemble. The Society is non-profit-making, any surplus being used to subsidise future events.
